Connecting the vacuum advance to the manifold vacuum may be worse than nothing since that advances the timing at idle and then pulls it back when you accelerate—opposite of what you want with timing… You might consider just going to full mechanical advance. Most people get into an old car rut and stay there. When I tell you that car was fast that is an understatement! It's not restored so it's not perfect, o please expect imperfections with a 41 year old car. We have had many complaints of late arrivals, especially to Australia, South America, Eastern Europe and Africa.
