When I tried to start it, mind you I was telling my brother how good this car has been the night before. My advice for anyone thinking of buying a Dodge Charger, research all online reviews, buy an extended warranty and get rid of the car before the warranty ends. Have a dealership check your ride to give you peace of mind. Three days ago a friend of mine rode with me to see if he likes the car. In closing, will not buy another Dodge product but will have their screw up fixed as I do like the room and horse power. I have saved all my documentation in case this occurs. I can't wait to hear it start up once he hooks up the exhaust.
A car should not have these kinds of issues with this low of miles. Took it to the dealership to get the oil changed and the noise checked out. Guys Im lost for words right now. They don't count that as part of the internal engine. Any help would be appreciated.
My 06 Charger has had it since probably 30 or 40K on the clock. Three other questions if you don't mind. When i was sitting still at the traffic light , i didnt hear it. Sometimes my car sits, and that's when I usually hear it, upon startup. Had someone to come a check my car out and i was told that it was my motor and that it would cost 5-6 thousand to fix the problem.
There you can find valuable tips and even some answers to your issues. They both tick a little. So today I did my oil change. This is unacceptable behavior from a corporation. So I towed it to Dodge and they tell me 2 days later that my 4th valve seat dropped and shot metal throughout my engine. Sometimes the sound goes away a little when I fill her up with some 93 Oct. Ownergard said it would have been covered if the motor cause the seat guide to fail but since it was diagnosed the other way around it isn't covered.
I figured there was a big problem and called a tow truck. I know we cant be too picky with our cars,,, but come on! Don't have money to rebuild, so vehicle is a huge paper weight stored in my garage. I re-greased and re-torqued them myself, but not solved I may do it again later today. I jumped in and cranked the engine and there was a horrible noise and the engine wouldn't start. For shame, spread the word.
I had the mechanic come outside to look at the car instead of me bringing my car into the loud garage. I quit obsessing over it 2 years ago. My steering seems stiffer than when I dropped it off, like it takes more effort to turn the wheel. I was driving to the store one day about 5 miles from my house, before i could get to the store the car started to run hot. Haven't had it for over a month and don't see me being able to get it back anytime soon. The dealership had the attitude oh another one.
I researched online and found several owners have had the same problem and it was being called premature engine failure due to the engine design. So if may be worth a try if you are inclined. Merging onto the highway and it just died! Luckily I got away with it. I was at weekly car gathering at Hardees last night kind of like a weekly car show and everyone loved the car but when I went to leave I started it and of course the loud tick was there at start up and everyone around was like whoa, that does't sound good at all. It was a fun car to drive. It was not that loud but I could hear it.
I'm in talking with my current dealer about my breaks. It is on back-order, with no anticipated lead time. Add to that the fact that it was over a buck cheaper a quart and it was a no brainer for me. I will be advising them to unload them asap if they want to avoid this costly nightmare. They always hose you on the trade-in; looks like they're just trying to hose you a little extra. We should all stand up and take action again Dodge to fix this issue now! Needless to say I once was a Dodge man. The second mechanic had me pull in my car and had me wait for a couple of minutes.
Finally got it started, it blew out white smoke. Well the warranty company carefully worded to the point of the people working at the dealership and service departments for two different companies were confused by it. I am disgusted with Chrysler! We'll see how long it lasts. Last night it stalled out 17 times in a row. As always, any insight is appreciated. Drove to a friends house one night, about 2 miles away.
However after the initial 3-5 seconds it was fine and sounded fine. Crysler should be covering this expence!!!!! They had already test drove the car and run the engine a while so whatever was done was done. I started putting the highest octane fuel in my car and I have always used full synthetic oil. I did not have any warning that something was wrong and there the car only had 120,000 miles on it. Now that I have a shade under 20K km 12K miles my breaks look like vinyl records. Oh well, what's done is done right? Just dropped the valve and is screwed.
