I thank you for your time, this looks to be a great forum. Good idea doing the thermostat at the same time of the install, I think I'll follow your lead on this one and do the same. Once the engine is fully warmed up the Mishimoto racing thermostat will open up at a lower temperature than standard thermostats, also allowing the coolant to flow through the engine sooner thus reducing and maintaining cooler engine temperatures. Then put the sensor back into the bottom of the radiator and tighten it with the adjustable wrench. The engine is capable of so much more though, a performance chip, remap and having said limiter removed will result in 185mph top speed. If you over-tighten, the bolt threads can be severely damaged and you risk breaking a bolt off inside the head. Be sure that both surfaces are clean.
The thermostat on the Nissan 350Z is an important component of the engine cooling system. Turn the sensor counterclockwise to remove it. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. For the others just use common sense and you'll be fine. Best regards, -Cameron while you are in there - consdier doing the starter as well.
Slide the thermostat out of the top of the engine block, noting its orientation. One bolt will have to be removed more or less blind, but once the bolts are out, it appeared that turning it and some wiggling, it would come right out past the pipes. You couldn't have a look if you still have them could you? All donations go to the costs operating and maintaining this site. There are many great features available to you once you register at RennTech. Also, shall I assume the same about the clutch cover specs? Do you know the average life of these starters not including ones that were coolant soaked? Make sure to join the Notification Squad!! I'm going to be replacing my clutch and flywheel with items from Clark Motorsport and I'd like to know the torque specs, or advice on where to find them, for the flywheel bolts and clutch cover mainly. Specially designed for your Nissan 350Z and Infiniti G35, the Mishimoto oil cooler is a direct fit and works with both manual and automatic applications. My 2007 touring with mild mods does 164 mph according to the digital speedo, but i ran out of room on the highway and still had about 700 to 800 rpm left.
Be careful not to bend or damage the electrical connector tabs. I snapped the first bolt trying to follow the 25 pound with a torque, need new bolts. Specifications for the four-bolt-main are 70 ft. A 6 speed manual 'box transmits the power to the driven wheels. I've just got an extreme clutch from Clark motorsport aswell and it had instructions with everything you needed to know No, not yet. I'm a noob so i didn't use the search. The second pass at 65 pounds, but here is what I intend to do following the same sequence, tight using one hand until it stops with a gentle pressure -10 pounds- then three times one quater of a turn at a time if you feel that it needs the fourth quater turn to complete the full 360 turn then do it but use your judgement and do not over tighten it.
You should always check the year of your engine before torquing any bolts. They were going to be e-mails but not had them yet. The 350Z is an out-and-out 309 bhp petrol fuelled muscle car; low on mpg and high on emissions and tyres. When the thermostat fails, it can fail in the open position in which case the engine will not warm up properly , or in the closed position in which case, the engine will overheat. The heads require the correct torque and tightening sequence to prevent damage to the head gasket. The Mishimoto Nissan 350Z racing thermostat will promote greater cooling efficiency throughout your engine. These include the water pump, flex plate or flywheel, spark plugs, timing cover, intake manifold and oil pan, just to name a few.
I looked at the torque specs when I did the job. Main-cap torque specification on the typical Chevrolet 350 two-bolt-main engine is 70 ft. Put the radiator cap back on and continue to let the engine idle for another 10 to 15 minutes. They were going to be e-mails but not had them yet. However, the tires are not rated that highly, so caution and updated rubber as well as parts brakes, clutch, suspension are advised but not required. Thank you Brent for your time, it is greatly appreciated. Pull the top half of the thermostat housing off of the top of the engine block. The intake manifold and the heads are the main top-end components that rely on torque specifications. What I am specifically looking for are the torque specs for each of the bolts that I will be removing and re-installing.
Cheers Rizzo, You bring up an interesting point with regard to the work shop manual, if the coolant pipes can remain intact for the replacement of the starter I may just hold off on replacing it at this time. The accessories have certain specifications as well. Jagman, Thank you for your post. If the bolt is not tight enough, it may eventually back out of the threads, resulting in severe engine damage. I got the printed off service bulletin about the release bearing but that's it. As mentioned, if the starter is accessible with the coolant plumbing intact, then I will leave it be until the time comes to naturally change it. You will also need a torque wrench and engine oil.
