Meanwhile, Eddie promised to contact Alison via fax while he was away, but finds access to a fax machine difficult. Eddie attempts to use his father's advice in trying to get Nicole to like him. Eddie learns that Alison had struck up a friendship with Evan during their time together and the two struggle to break the news to Evan that Alison can't hang out at the house anymore. Meanwhile, Honey takes the death of extremely hard.
Marvin sues the Huangs, trying to convince Louis that it's no big deal because the money will come from their insurance. Eddie is excited about seeing his cousin who introduced him to , Justin Lance Lim - but Justin is now very depressing to be around now that he is a fan of instead. Elsewhere, Evan is uninvited to his friend's birthday party and Jessica assumes it's because she confronted the boy's mother in the school parking lot. When she realizes Evan can't get into the private school because the Huangs are renters, Jessica offers to buy a large home from a real estate client. Meanwhile, the kids see a commercial stating that a motorized chair can be free to someone over 65, but they don't know Grandma's age and she doesn't know herself. Louis is proud that Cattleman's has earned the Golden Prune award from a retiree publication, but when word of the award gets around the elderly community, there are unintended consequences. Trent warns him to stay away from his sister, not for her protection but for Eddie's.
